Each January, Providence College honors Dr. King and his efforts to create a Beloved Community at the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Convocation, a special event featuring guest speakers whose work reflects Dr. King’s legacy.
2024 Keynote Speaker
Pastor Mike McClure Jr.
Founding Pastor of Rock City Church
Pastor Mike Jr. is a trailblazer and trendsetter in the world of ministry and music. He is a proud husband and father, the founding pastor of Rock City Church, and a 19-time Stellar Award and Dove Award winner for his contributions to Gospel and Christian music.
Under his leadership, Rock City Church has earned the title of one of the fastest-growing churches in the south, as acknowledged by Outreach Magazine. The church’s mission is simple yet impactful: “Love God, Love People, and Make a Difference.” Pastor Mike Jr. lives by these words. From alleviating medical debt to organizing groceries and gas giveaways, he and Rock City Church are living proof that the impossible becomes possible with faith.
Pastor Mike Jr.’s journey is an inspiring testament to the power of faith and dedication. He envisions a world where love is not just spoken but tangibly felt through acts of kindness and compassion. His life’s work serves as a beacon of hope, bridging gaps, and touching hearts, leaving an indelible mark on the lives he touches. In short, Pastor Mike Jr.’s story captivates, leaving us with a profound realization: that when purpose meets passion, and faith meets action, the impossible is merely the beginning of the extraordinary.
